Our world is in constant motion resulting from trillions of human and natural interactions. From mega-trends, short-term cycles, fads and major disruptive events, its shape and course are being (re)defined at any point in time.

As obvious as this is, most people and investors tend to think that things will come back to where they were. They are generally uncomfortable when their environment is clearly moving. The human mind typically associates change with risk. We argue the opposite: Change is good and following change actually reduces investment risk. More, it creates opportunities.

Our investment philosophy is very much influenced by this idea. We certainly give a lot of consideration to past data to make up our minds, but we prefer to invest behind trends that are changing the world rather than established themes. We constructively challenge apparent states of immobility, established situations and reversion to the mean.
